Enigmático

Aqui fica um pequeno enigma:

Estão quatro pessoas acorrentadas a uma escadaria (1,2,3 e 4). Duas têm chapéu vermelho e as outras azul. A pessoa 1 tem uma parede que a impede de ver as restantes. Cada pessoa só consegue ver aquelas que se encontram no patamar abaixo! (i.e. 2 vê 3 e 4; 3 só vê 4 e a pessoa 4 não pode ver ninguém). Sabendo que a pessoa que gritar primeiro a cor correcta do seu chapéu é automaticamente libertada (e não pode tirar o próprio chapéu para verificar a côr), quem é que será libertado dando provas da sua perspicácia? A utilização do parâmetro "sorte" pode ditar a pena capital...
